To augment day-alternative/employment service resources. We provide assistance to
clients and support teams to address challenges that jeopardize the success of a
fulfilling day program for the client.
Our Focus
Our focus in Outreach Services is to work together with service providers to create
positive changes for clients. This may be accomplished through direct client specific
referrals, or indirectly through staff training.
Who we can Help?
Any individual who is currently in a PDD (Persons with Developmental Disabilities)
funded day-alternative/Employment service in the Calgary region. *
* PDD Funded Service Providers in the Calgary region.
Note:
Outreach Services are available at no cost for those clients & their
staff/teams who are currently in a PDD funded Day-alternative Employment program.
* The Calgary region includes many rural communities in the surrounding area.

We provide assistance for a client/team experiencing challenges within the
day-alternative/employment program.
Who can make a referral?
Services available...
Consultation to assist an individual & his/her team to develop recommended approaches
to support an individual experiencing challenges throughout their day (eg. Self-injurious
behaviour, Boundary concerns, Difficulties in the workplace - safety issues, etc.).
Assessments of enviroments, support approaches, and an individuals skills that may
contribute to successful outcomes (eg. Communication, Boundary issues, Enviromental
enrichment etc.)
Individualized coaching and modeling of the recommended support approaches.
Short term direct support to individuals experiencing difficulties in their day-alternative/Employment
program to achieve a specific purpose (eg. Transitioning into a new day program,
modeling support approaches etc.)
Facilitation of Career and Lifestyle Planning to assist the individual in setting
new goals, increase motivation, or explore new settings.
Psychological Consultation.
We provide staff development opportunities to assist staff in developing practical
skills for working with clients.
Services available...
Individualized on site consultation, and support
Workshops developed to meet your specific needs (eg. Supporting individuals with
challenging behaviour, staff stress/burnout, boundaries etc.).
The independent adult client, the day service provider, front line support
staff, or guardian can make referrals.

Career Planning Course
This course has been designed and taught to assist individuals in developing skills
needed to determine and achieve future career goals.
Woman's Group
This 12-week group offered twice each year, is designed to provide women with disabilities
a place to receieve validation, feedback and insight about themselves, their interpersonal
relationships and about women's shared reality.
Anger Management Group
This 12-week group has been designed to provide pratical knowledge and skills to
individuals with developmental disabilities to deal with the emotion of anger. Through
the group, the complexities of anger are narrowed down, as each participant learns
more effective ways of dealing with their emotions.
