Supported Lifestyles offers a variety of services that can help support you.
The following is a list of services:
Supported Lifestyles has two full time psychologists and one part time psychologist.
They are available to talk with you and help sort out any problems or concerns you
may be dealing with. Pending availability, Psychological Service may be extended
to individuals who are receiving services from other PDD funded agencies.
Psychological Services might include:
- Ongoing Consultation
- Assessment
- Individual or Group counselling
- Education and training

We provide short-term residential support in a group home to individuals over 17
years of age, on an emergency or planned basis (eg. care-giver vacations). This
service is available to individuals over 17 years of age who cannot access other
services due to behavioural challenges.
We view the provision of relief services to families and other referring sources
as a vital support, one that fosters stability and comfort at home, and one that
assists in supporting the individual within the community.
Assists individuals in developing their home life as identified through discussions
with them, their guardians and their networks.
Assists in choosing, setting up, and supporting a living situation that meets their
specific needs and personal preferences. A variety of support models are available:
two or three peers sharing a home, supportive roommate, in-home family supports and
outreach support.
Supports include community involvement, home living skills development, grocery
shopping, personal care, medication/medical needs, budgeting/money management and
many other supports that would be important.
We communicate regularly with guardians, trustees, network members, day providers,
doctors, schools, etc. We routinely involve Agency psychologists in developing positive
approaches to meet any behavioural and emotional support needs. We facilitate and
participate in goal planning for individuals. We develop profiles that identify
the support needs, history, and authorizations.
Supports individuals with developing and pursuing their career related goals. Career
services offers weekday community-based activities that meet the individual's specific
needs and personal preferences. These activities might include:
- Career planning (individual or group)
- Work experience
- Volunteer work
- Education and training pursuits
- Paid employment
- Self employment
- Leisure and social activities

Services to Employers include:
- Consultation with a member of our support team
- Assistance with identifying training and employment support solutions
- Facilitation of an understanding of disability related issues
- Provision of job coaching for the individual
- Support during transition and follow-up stages
This course is offered to adolescents and adults who live in the Calgary region. Facilitators
use a variety of approaches to assist individuals in exploring their career options.
Small-group classes are typically offered twice a year starting
in March and September. The classes are 2 hours per week for fourteen weeks. To

We provide short term Outreach support to community employment/day alternative service
providers who receive PDD funding when individuals in their services are experiencing
difficulties.
Support may include:
- Consultation
- Assessment
- Situational coaching
- Staff training/workshop
- Psychological Services
The involvement is intended to provide short term assistance to individuals to deal
with critical issues which interfere with community involvement.
